It's no surprise that in the 18th century, just about every royal family owned a Toy Poodle. Who can blame them for owning such a majestic dog? Toy Poodles are considered to be one of the smartest dog breeds. They are able to adapt and learn just about anything you throw at them.
Nintendogs biography:

SHIBA INU

A small agile dog, the Shiba Inu was originally bred in Japan as a hunter. They have a reputation for being highly intelligent and independent. It's not unusual for a Shiba to learn a new trick in a few attempts.

PEMBROKE WELSH CORGI

Perhaps, one of the smartest breeds in the game, the Pembroke Welsh Corgi's is widely known for its intelligence. Even Hollywood acknowledges this fact, as seen in the recent anime series Cowboy Bebop, which featured Ein, an incredibly gifted Pembroke. Not only are Corgis intelligent, they have a vast amount of energy.

MINIATURE SCHNAUZER

Resembling a grumpy old man, the Miniature Schnauzer is a smaller version of its cousin, the Standard Schnauzer. Although smaller than its bigger cousin, the Mini Schnauzer is an active and strong breed. Be patient when training. When learning new tricks, their lack of focus and average intelligence may result in spending a little more time than usual.
Nintendogs biography:
"Originating in Germany, this breed carries itself with dignity. Its beard and eyebrows define the breed."

MINIATURE PINSCHER

Tall enough to pass as a large breed, but compact to be considered a small dog, the Miniature Pinscher is the apartment-friendly version of a big dog. Apartment owners will love the fact that Pinschers have low maintenance grooming habits due to its smooth, short hair coat.
Nintendogs biography:
"This German breed has a very appealing build and gait."

LABRADOR RETRIEVER

Active owners take note: Labrador Retrievers are one of the most popular dogs due to its active and outgoing nature. They are naturally strong and muscular; well suited for those who demand the best for Agility and Disc competitions. Their working dog mentality makes them committed for training and exercising. Also, their intelligence is unrivaled by any other breeds. May be that's why Labrador Retrievers have been used for everything, from hunting to search and rescue.
Nintendogs biography:
"Originating in England, this breed is highly intelligent, kind in nature, and great as assistance dogs."

YORKSHIRE TERRIER

Yorkshire Terriers are a tiny breed - a full grown is barely nine inches tall. But the Yorkshire Terriers' colossal personality makes up for its lack of size. They are energetic and extremely playful. Though, they may be difficult to train since they tend to lose focus. They also have a demanding grooming habit because their silky long coat requires constant brushing and bathing.
Nintendogs biography:
"This English breed os commonly called a Yorkie, and is also nicknamed the «walking jewel»."
